Garbh Sanskar:Food To Eat: Part IV

A diet is called nutritious when it contains proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals in needed amount.

Iodine plays an important role in regulating your thyroid gland and your metabolism – the rate at which your body uses energy.

In pregnancy, iodine also helps your baby's brain and nervous system develop. In fact, iodine deficiencies are the single most important cause of preventable mental retardation and brain damage worldwide. A lack of iodine during pregnancy has also been linked with an increased risk of miscarriage, preterm delivery, and stillbirth.

Iodine Rich Foods To Eat During Pregnancy

  • Eggs
  • Apples
  • Oranges
  • Grapes
  • Strawberries
  • Salt

Milk and dairy products are the main sources of iodine for most people Iodine you need:

  • Pregnant women: about 220 micrograms (mcg) of iodine per day
  • Breastfeeding women: about 290 mcg
  • You don't have to get the recommended amount of iodine every day. Instead, aim for that amount as an average over the course of a few days or a week.
  • 1 cup milk: 56 mcg
  • 1/2 cup strawberries: 6 mcg

It is dangerous to have too little or too much iodine. During pregnancy, iodine is essential for the correct development of the baby’s brain.

During pregnancy, the amount of iodine you need increases. This is because you have to make sufficient thyroid hormones to transfer to your baby to help its brain develop correctly. You also supply all the iodine that the baby needs. Iodine deficiency in pregnancy may have serious consequences for your child so it is very important that you meet the higher iodine requirement if you are pregnant. Breastfeeding mums still need a higher amount of iodine, so their breast milk has enough iodine for their baby. This is because the brain is still developing at that early stage.

www

A low intake of iodine over a long period of time may cause your thyroid to work harder to keep the right amount of thyroid hormones in your blood. This can mean that your thyroid increases in size in order to trap iodine; this swelling - or ‘goitre’ - may be visible in your neck. It is more likely that having too little iodine in your diet will lead to low levels of thyroid hormones. If you have a deficiency of iodine when you are pregnant, your baby’s brain may not develop as well as it could and this could affect your child’s ability to learn in later years; for instance, your child could have a lower IQ or poorer reading ability.

Garbh Sanskar:Food To Eat: Part III

It is understood and outset now: right food would assist in the organ development of the baby. The baby has short time for developing its vital organs like liver, heart, kidneys and the lungs. A diet lacking Calcium or Vitamin D could possibly hinder the baby's tooth and bone development.

Pregnant mothers always wonder that what they should eat & what not. Some says a mother should take the diet of two people because she needs to take care of one more life. But is it true, if yes what they should eat & if not how the baby will get proper diet to grow as a healthy child.

veg4

On the other hand, light eating all through the pregnancy may stop the growth of your baby as it is required. Research has shown that whatever the mother eats during her pregnancy tenure, would affect the baby's food habits in his future life.Eating lots of fruits and vegetables can ensure that the baby would enjoy eating them in the course of time.

Some studies have also told that patterns of eating would contribute in the development of your baby's personality. It is said that babies of undernourished mothers tend to smile a lot lesser and are drowsier compared to those who were nourished healthy. The baby's brain always needs healthy eating habits mainly during the final period, so It is therefore the best time for eating proteins, omega-3 fatty acids and calories as they make sure about optimum development of the brain.

In the same manner, a healthy pregnancy diet has several components or ingredients that a pregnant mother should take note of in order to ensure her baby's proper growth. Some of these components, like vitamins and minerals, would provide the necessary nutrients for the development of the baby's bodily systems and organs, such as the brain, spine, bones and nervous system.

A mother who follows healthy pregnancy diet guidelines carefully has better chances of providing the proper nutrition for her child, and is better assured that her child is developing and functioning normally.A healthy pregnancy diet does not necessarily involve having a grand and complicated scheme for planning meals; it simply involves putting additional effort in paying attention to the food you eat.

Consulting your doctor is a good measure for you to determine the changes that must be made in the diet as the pregnancy progresses.

Did you know that the brain is made up of a huge percentage of fat? Your baby's brain needs a lot of fat! Low fat diets starve the brains of our children. Is it any surprise that learning disabilities, attention disorders, and lack of imagination are on the rise? Our children's brains are literally starving to death.Your baby won't be able to use the vitamins and minerals from your vegetables if you do not eat fat! The same is true of vitamins and minerals from fruits.

why-we-need-vitamins-600x300

Your baby's brain and body must have fats.

A low-fat diet will keep you and your baby unhealthy. You need a higher fat diet during pregnancy. If you eat healthy fats during pregnancy and avoid processed food, sugar, and excessive carbohydrates, you will be healthy. Not all fats are good for you.Coconut oil, butter, full-fat dairy and olive oil are all good fats.Avocados and coconuts both have beneficial fats in them.Eggs are an excellent source of both fat and protein. In fact, eating eggs daily during pregnancy is wonderful.

Two eggs a day is an excellent basis for a pregnancy diet. Add olives, avocados, coconut oil, salmon, and butter or cream to get the important fats that nourish you and build your smart, healthy baby!

Important: Low fat diets have also created an infertility epidemic. If you're having trouble even getting pregnant, switch to full-fat dairy products. It is scientifically proven to increase fertility!

Personal Advise:If you discover you are pregnant, see a doctor as soon as possible to begin receiving prenatal care (care during pregnancy). The sooner you begin receiving medical care, the better the chances that both you and your baby are healthy in the future.

Garbh Sanskar:Food To Eat: Part II

Doctors state that the three most essential nutrients for pregnant women are Vitamin B12, Vitamin D and iron. Of course, proteins, minerals and other vitamins are also required by the body, so food items that deliver all this essential goodness should be regularly consumed.

vegetables

Stock up on the following food items to get an adequate supply of iron:

  • Leafy, dark-green vegetables.
  • Pulses
  • Fortified breakfast cereals with added Iron
  • Eggs ( For those vegetarians who consume them)
  • Dried fruits (for instance apricots)
Excellent Sources of Vitamin B12

To be can get their required daily dose of vitamin B12 from the following:

  • Fortified soya drinks
  • Fortified breakfast cereals
  • Milk
  • Cheese
  • Eggs
Excellent Sources of Vitamin D

Pregnant woman can gather all the vitamin D they need from all-natural sunlight, and Vitamin D supplements. Since the baby needs Vitamin D to develop and grow, having supplements is absolutely imperative.

The deficiency of vitamin D can have horrendous effects on the body. The deficiency of vitamin D in babies can be a matter of deep concern. The most common cause of vitamin D deficiency in babies happens to be minimal sun exposure. If the mother is at an optimal level of vitamin D herself, then the child is preventable from developing any vitamin D deficiencies.

Vitamin D supplements are the easiest and most accessible means to treating vitamin D deficiencies. These supplements are readily available at all medical and general stores, but be sure to consult a doctor before grabbing a bottle.

veg8

Sunlight is one of the leading natural sources of vitamin D. Exposure to the sun’s rays allows the body to formulate its own vitamin D. However, the usage of sunscreens and sun blocks obstructs this natural process and can lead to a deficiency of vitamin D. Make sure that you give your baby some time with the sun in order to avoid this deficiency, but be careful of over exposure as we do not want to burn their skin which as it is, is extremely sensitive. Also, overexposure to the sun always carries with itself the risk of skin cancer. So make sure, you allow your baby to enjoy a controlled and regulated time with the sun which is not verging towards underexposure or overexposure.

Light skin -- 15-20 minutes daily
Medium Skin -- 25-30 minutes daily
Dark Skin -- 40-45 minutes daily

Adequate vitamin D or sunshine in third period ( we understood about first, second and third period in my earlier blog) helps your baby form strong bones and muscles and lower the chance of immune disorders.Vitamin D protects your baby during the new born period. High levels of vitamin D at birth protect against wheezing and respiratory infections.

Take care of your unborn  baby.

Garbh Sanskar:Food To Eat: Part I

It is a well-known fact that what a mother eats during pregnancy is important for her health and for the health and development of her baby. Therefore it is important for every mother to eat right during this period of pregnancy.Because pregnancy affects your immune system, you and your unborn baby are more susceptible to the bacteria, viruses, and parasites that cause foodborne illness.

This is a guide for a balanced diet during pregnancy will include an increase in some vitamins, nutrients and minerals.

veg10

Try for the following each day:

  • 3 to 5 serves of breads/cereals, rice, noodles, pasta (one serve equals two slices of bread, one cup of cooked rice/pasta/noodles.
  • 4 to 5 serves of vegetables and legumes (one serve equals one cup of salad, half a cup of vegetables/cooked beans/lentils).
  • 4 serves of fruit (one serve equals one medium-sized piece of fruit, four dried apricots).
  • 1½ serves of protein:eggs and nuts are the best source for pregnant women.
  • 2 serves of calcium (250ml milk, 2 slices of cheese or 200g yoghurt).

Eggs are versatile and a good source of protein that provides amino acids you and your baby need. They contain more than a dozen vitamins and minerals, including choline, which is good for baby's brain development. However, be sure not to eat undercooked or raw eggs.

  • Approximately 10 per cent of calories should come from protein. Protein is mainly found in eggs, nuts and beans.
  • Approximately 35 per cent of calories should come from fat, which is mainly found in butter, oils, dairy products.
  • Approximately 55 per cent of calories should come from carbohydrates, which are found in bread, pasta, potatoes, rice, corn and other grain products.

How much energy does a woman need during pregnancy?

  • A woman who is not pregnant needs approximately 2100 calories per day.
  • A pregnant woman needs approximately 2500 calories per day.
  • A breastfeeding woman needs approximately 3000 calories per day.

    veg9

It is considered normal to gain 10 to 12kg.

For practical reasons the pregnancy is divided into three periods:

    • the first period runs from week 0 to 12 where it is normal to gain 1 to 2kg.
    • the second period runs from weeks 12 to 28 in which it is normal to gain 300 to 400g a week.
    • the third period runs from weeks 28 to 40 and it is normal to gain 1 to 3kg  a month.

Where do the extra kilos come from?

    • A total weight increase of about 11.2kg  is normal.
    • A baby weighs approximately 3.5kg before birth.
    • The uterus grows to approximately 900g.
    • The placenta weighs approximately 650g.
    • The amniotic fluid weighs approximately 800g.
    • The woman's breasts grow by approximately 400g.
    • The weight of the extra blood is approximately 1.25kg.
    • Water retained in the body tissues weighs approximately 2kg.
    • The layer of fat beneath the skin weighs approximately 1.7kg.

    Garbh Sanskar:Food To Eat

Pregnancy is a very important and crucial phase in every woman’s life. It is that time when you get pampered thoroughly because you are pregnant, so make the most of it. You are told a million times to eat right and eat more because you are eating for two (or more) people and whatever you eat goes to the baby and greatly affects its health too.

Most people are completely unaware of what to eat during pregnancy and get all kinds of advice from neighbors, family and people all around them. Don’t fret, just read this article to get clarity about the right kinds of food to eat when you are pregnant.

Avocados: Loaded with folic acid (vital to forming your baby's brain and nervous system), potassium, vitamin C, and vitamin B6 (which not only helps baby's tissue and brain growth, but may also help with your morning sickness), avocados are a delicious way to get your vitamins. Keep in mind that avocados are high in fat (though the very good kind) and calories, so heap them on your plate only if you're having trouble gaining weight.

    veg1

Broccoli: Ensuring you eat well during pregnancy has endless benefits for you and your baby.Packed with plenty of vitamins A and C, with a calcium bonus (better to build those baby bones with), as well as baby-friendly folic acid. It can reduce your chances of your baby being born with a spinal abnormality. It’s rich in iron and calcium. Want that pregnancy glow? Then eat broccoli-its packed full of essential vitamins and minerals known for shiny hair and glowing skin.Broccoli is a good source of folate which helps prevent neurological defects such as spina bifida in the fetus. All women need a regular source of folate during pregnancy.

Carrots are a rich source of vitamin A and help in the baby’s development of bones, teeth and eyes. Carrots also contain vitamin C and vitamin B6 and are packed with fiber. Overall, it makes for a great vegetable to have during your pregnancy, for children and even otherwise. You can include them in salads or have them in soups or any way you please.

Nuts are loaded with vital minerals such as copper, manganese, magnesium, selenium, zinc, potassium, calcium and vitamin E. Just ensure that you eat only a handful of nuts as they are high in fat. You could also simply pop a handful into your mouth daily. Try an assortment of nuts such as almonds, cashews, walnuts, pistachios and so on.

Protein and carbohydrates are extremely important during pregnancy as they affect the baby’s growth and development. Some foods rich in protein are green vegetables, dairy products and so on. Foods rich in carbohydrates are potatoes, whole grains and pasta. Overall ensure you eat a balanced diet containing proteins, iron, carbohydrates, calcium, fruits etc on a daily basis and you should do well.

Foods rich in Calcium:It is highly recommended to drink plenty of milk during pregnancy as it contains calcium. Also if you do not drink milk during pregnancy you could get osteoporosis later. A cup of plain yoghurt has more calcium than even milk and is found to be rich in protein as well. Yoghurt also contains folic acid and protein. Drink milk even though you might take calcium supplements as there is more calcium in milk than the supplements. Calcium is a key to growing your little ones healthy bones, teeth, and muscle growth. It is also needed by a pregnant mothers body to store for use later on during breastfeeding.

    veg2

Orange juice:Not only is this juice high in vitamin C and folic acid, it's also a good source of potassium, which has been shown to help lower high blood pressure, a particular danger during pregnancy.

Oatmeal: Here's good reason to feel your oats (and eat them often). They're full of fiber, the B vitamins, and iron and a host of other minerals. Fill your breakfast bowl with them, but don't stop there. You can add oats — and all their nutritional super powers.

Spinach: Rich in folic acid, iron (which you need for all those blood cells, Baby!). The pre-requisite for the development of a healthy fetus is adequate intake of folate/folic acid by the expectant mother. In fact, the requirement for folate starts immediately on conception of the fetus. Hence, it is important that women increase their folate intake as soon as they plan to get pregnant. This is very important because deficient levels of folate can lead to serious birth defects like cleft lip, cleft palate and spina bifida.Folic acid is required in significant quantities for the developing fetus.

And if the mother is deficient in folic acid then it leads to a host of problems like insufficient absorption of food by the small intestine, shortness of breath, decrease in weight, diarrhea, tiredness, etc. Spinach has been found to be an excellent source of nutrition for lactating or nursing mothers and also helps in improving the quality of the milk.

Spinach is also a very rich source of beta carotene which the body easily converts to vitamin A. Vitamin A is very essential for the developing fetus during pregnancy and also while breastfeeding. This is so because vitamin A plays a pivotal role in the healthy development of the fetus specially lung development and maturation.

    Garbh Sanskar:Baby’s Brain: Part VI

Pregnant women should eat a variety of foods to get all the nutrients and vitamins they need it for their health and the health of the fetus.

There are some foods you should not eat when you're pregnant because they might make you ill or harm your baby. Make sure you know the important facts about which foods you should avoid or take extra care with when you're pregnant.

And we will give you important guidance about what to eat  and what to avoid.

    aaaaa

    As per researchers…

There are some foods which have a negative impact on the health of the mother and the fetus and should avoid these foods to maintain  health and the future health of her baby because they could:

    • cause food poisoning, or
    • harm your unborn baby

It contains harmful substances that may be hazardous to the health of her unborn child. It is possible that lead to premature birth, abortion, and sometimes it may fetal exposure to some of the problems and birth defects. Here are some foods that should be avoided during pregnancy.

Drinks that contain caffeine, such as tea, coffee and soft drinks affect the body's ability to absorb minerals such as iron, calcium, your intake of these drinks may expose you to a miscarriage or premature birth so pregnant are advised to limit the intake of these beverages.

Non unwashed vegetables have the ability to transfer disease toxoplasmosis, a disease caused by the parasite Toxoplasma gondii, which can lead to brain damage or blindness of the fetus it is necessary to wash vegetables thoroughly before eating.

Milk products contain non-pasteurized or raw Listeria bacteria, which can cause abortion as we have. Make sure that the milk is evaluated by capturing the pasteurized preferred in pregnancy away from non-pasteurized milk, or if you drink this milk is preferred boiled well  to kill any bacteria and then you can drink.

    Fresh fruits

Soft ice creams should be fine to eat when you're pregnant, as they are processed products made with pasteurised milk. However, if you have any concerns about eating these products, you might wish to avoid them while you're pregnant.

Don't eat liver or liver products as they may contain a lot of vitamin A. Too much vitamin A can harm your baby.Don't take high-dose multivitamin supplements, fish liver oil supplements or any supplements containing vitamin A.

Wash all surfaces and utensils thoroughly after preparing meal. It's also important to remember to wash and dry your hands after touching or handling through preparing meal. This will help to avoid the spread of harmful bugs that can cause food poisoning.

    Garbh Sanskar:Baby’s Brain: Part V

Scientists have uncovered many new insights about a baby’s mental life in the womb:

The foundation of your baby’s intelligence is being built while he is still a fetus.  This stage of your baby’s life is very critical because this is where the raw materials of his intelligence and personality are being formed.  Fetal brain development has long lasting effect on your baby’s personality.

Congenital malformations, premature delivery and many other conditions have a serious effect on your infant’s future and quality of life.  You should be aware of factors that can have an effect on your baby’s prenatal development, and avoid those that can be avoided.

    balanced-diet

Harmful to Baby's Brain Development During Pregnancy:

Early Birth (Even Slightly) -  According to a study published  babies born at 37 weeks and 38 weeks had significantly lower reading scores compared to children born at 39, 40 or 41 weeks. Math scores were also lower for children born at 37 or 38 weeks. Accordingly researchers  "The thing to keep in mind is that a child born 36 weeks, 6 days has brain size two-thirds that of a term infant," "They're still at a deficit with regard to brain development."

Inadequate nutrition -  The lack of calcium,  iron,  iodine and other vitamins lead to baby’s learning disabilities, delay in language development, behavioral problems, and a lower I.Q. The baby needs iodine to make thyroid hormone, which is essential for brain development. Iron is needed to make red blood cells that transport oxygen to the baby, affecting the baby's brain and body growth.

Folic acid deficiency – This leads to the baby’s neural tube being unable to close properly.  The neural tube is the tissue from which the brain and spinal cord develop.  Improper closing of this tube leads to severe malformations of the brain and spinal cord.  Folic acid is found in green leafy vegetables, broccoli, beans, citrus fruits and liver.

Vitamin D insufficiency– This is associated with poor growth of the baby and asthma. According to the research published, children born to mothers with low levels of Vitamin D during pregnancy are twice as likely to have severe language problems when they are in school.

Stress (and starvation) – A  study suggested that a mother’s stress during pregnancy may increase the risk of congenital brain malfunction in the baby. Severe emotional stress during the first months of a woman’s pregnancy may permanently impair the neurodevelopment of her unborn child, leading to an increased risk of schizophrenia later in life.   The stress referred here is not caused by the usual anxiety of daily life but those that are severe like emotional shock or death in the family.  The damage to the baby is possibly caused by increased stress hormone cortisol interfering with fetal development.

Mother's mental state – A fetus is sensitive to and can be affected by the mother's mental state. It is already preparing for life after birth based on the messages that the mom is providing. The study suggests that development is best in babies with moms who were either depression-free or had depression before and after giving birth.

Lack of sunshine – A study found that children whose mothers had low exposure to sunlight during the first 3 months of pregnancy may have a higher risk of developing multiple sclerosis later in life.  Vitamin D in sunlight is important for the fetus’ development of central nervous system.

    2508

Researchers found that infants born to mothers with higher blood levels of the omega-3 fatty acid (DHA) at delivery had advanced levels of attention spans up to age 2. During the first six months of life, these infants were two months ahead of those babies whose mothers had lower DHA levels.

Exercise during pregnancy could be beneficial for improving fetal breathing movements and also for autonomous nervous system development. Mothers who continue to work out during pregnancy have smarter babies.

    SHARE and Save Innocent Life

I read some where on net and i just amazed to read this:The way it’s described and i salute it. And you?.

A worried woman went to her gynecologist and said: 'Doctor, I have a serious problem and desperately need your help! My baby is not even 1 year old and I'm pregnant again. I don't want kids so close together.

So the doctor said: 'Ok and what do you want me to do?' She said: 'I want you to end my pregnancy, and I'm counting on your help with this.' The doctor thought for a little, and after some silence he said to the lady: 'I think I have a better solution for your problem. It's less dangerous for you too.' She smiled, thinking that the doctor was going to accept her request.

Then he continued: 'You see, in order for you not to have to take care 2 babies at the same time, let's kill the one in your arms. This way, you could rest some before the other one is born. If we're going to kill one of them, it doesn't matter which one it is. There would be no risk for your body if you chose the one in your arms. The lady was horrified and said: 'No doctor! How terrible! It's a crime to kill a child!

I agree', the doctor replied. 'But you seemed to be OK with it, so I thought maybe that was the best solution.' The doctor smiled, realizing that he had made his point. He convinced the mom that there is no difference in killing a child that's already been born and one that's still in the womb. The crime is the same!

If you agree, please SHARE. Together we can help save precious lives! "Love says I sacrifice myself for the good of the other person. Abortion says I sacrifice the other person for the good of myself..

    Garbh Sanskar:Baby’s Brain: Part IV

Researchers are discovering that IQ is impacted in its neonatal and natal delivery stages. The fetal brain develops dramatically as structures and connections form, providing the foundation for all future development. The fetal environment plays a critical role in these early neural processes, for better or for worse. Scientists now know that exposure to maternal stress can sometimes have deleterious effects on the fetus, depending on the cause, timing, duration, and intensity of stress. Fortunately, postnatal interventions, such as a secure parent-infant bond and an enriched environment, can buffer the potential negative consequences.

    44cdc787732d3caf33c2fe003a1a709e

Examine the factors carefully and you’ll discover multiple ways you can biggie-up the brains of the next generation.

    Researchers claims:
    • Full Term - Babies delivered at 40+ weeks have  an average 4.9 points higher IQ than premature infants. “the longer a baby stays in its mother’s womb, the better, when it comes to better overall health as well as increased brain development. This goes for even full term infants (37-41 weeks), where the extra time can make a big difference in developing better academic skills later on.
    • Pregnant women who exercise 30 minutes a day can increase their baby’s IQ by 8 points, claims researchers.
    • Omega 3 - Adding Omega 3  into Mom’s bloodstream will add 7.55 points to their Verbal IQ.
    • Expectant mothers who received iodine supplementation in geographical areas that had inadequate iodine in the diet elevated their children’s IQs by 12.45 IQ points.
    • In addition, it should be noted that throughout all stages of the pregnancy, development of the fetal brain remains vulnerable to a number of factors including the physical and emotional being of the mother, as well as the environment.

While brain development stages begin from the first week and continue to the 40th week, the actual organ does not begin to form until the third week of gestation. By the end of the first month the three brain sections (the forebrain, middle brain and hind brain) begin to develop, along with the optic nerve. By the sixth week, one is able to detect the formation of the brain hemispheres as well as some wave activity. This is also when the neural tube (precursor of the spinal column) also closes.

    Five Juices to Weight Loss

By the seventh week, the brain is shown to grow at a rapid rate and by the tenth week it forms 250,000 neurons per minute. At birth it will contain approximately 100 billion neurons. However, from the third to sixth month, the brain, itself, remains relatively small compared to it size and shape at delivery time. By the 19th week of the pregnancy, the brain becomes capable of forming millions of motor neurons, allowing the fetus to move its muscles voluntarily, and there is further growth of the fore brain separating it into the left and right cerebral hemispheres.

During the 20th week, the nerve cells create complex connections and sensory perception with the brain and the entire body. This development carries on until the age of 5 or 6.

By the 24th week, the brain begins to regulate all the body’s functions and heightens its senses, and completes all phases of its development during the third trimester (week 29-41).

Good overall nutrition is key to healthy brain development before birth.

Studies have been done on activities such as listening to music, meditating or doing yoga during pregnancy to promote fetal brain development in the womb.

Vitamins are important for your baby needs:Taking it will help ensure that you get the balance of nutrients your baby needs, like folic acid and vitamin B12 to make red blood cells, vitamin C to produce collagen, vitamin D for bone building, and zinc for brain development. If your vitamin upsets your stomach, don't just ditch it: Try taking it with a meal, or talk to your doctor about switching brands.

    Omega 3s:

Doctors indicate that Omega-3 fatty acids are a vital nutritional contributor to enhanced pregnancy health. The fact is, recent scientific literature suggests that Omega-3 fatty acids play a key part in pregnancy health - and in the healthy development of your baby.

Omega-3 fatty acids are key to human growth and development, but are not naturally synthesized by the body. This means that Omega-3s must be obtained from foods, particularly from seafood sources, oils (e.g., flaxseed oil), or dietary supplements.Omega-3s are "long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids" and are broken down into two fatty acid categories: DHA and EPA.Research indicates that EPA is important in promoting the development of prenatal and infant cardiac and circulatory systems. DHA, however, seems to receive more attention and accolades from the scientific community with regard to pregnancy health.

DHA is key to the developing brain, accumulating in vast amounts during infant development and during the first years of your baby's life. DHA is a central component of the nervous system and promotes neurological development, particularly with regard to the eyes and to fundamental cognitive function.Studies suggest that a baby born to a mother with high levels of Omega-3 fatty acids in her system will more likely have advanced cognitive faculties and an increased attention span. These effects have been measured up to age four, suggesting that there are long-term benefits of Omega-3 fatty acid consumption during pregnancy and nursing.

Of course, health benefits of Omega-3s are not restricted to fetal and early-childhood development. For mothers and mothers-to-be, higher dietary intake of Omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to decrease the risk of pregnancy complications. Higher levels of Omega-3s may also decrease the chances of premature delivery (pre-tem labor).

Omega-3 fatty acids will be passed from mother to baby during pregnancy through the placenta. During pregnancy, however, if your diet does not contain sufficient Omega-3 fatty acids, your baby will begin to "draw" Omega-3s from your own internal stores in the brain. This can cause a long-term Omega-3 deficit (a deficit extending even to future pregnancies) if Omega-3s are not regularly consumed from external food and/or supplement sources.

Source of Omega 3 Fatty Acid:

    Soy Milk,Yogurt,Bread,Cereal,Flour,Pasta,Oatmeal,Grains and Nuts,Green Leafy Vegetables,Brussels,Sprout,Mint,Spinach,Kale

In a way, Omega-3 fatty acids are like the new folic acid. It's common knowledge that trying-to-conceive and pregnant women should have a diet high in green, leafy vegetables or other sources of folic acid (including prenatal vitamins). With Omega-3s, its simply a matter of educating couples to the importance of this key nutrients when it comes time to having a baby. A diet high in Omega-3 fatty acids may become the new pregnancy-health watchword very soon.

    Garbh Sanskar:Baby’s Brain: Part II

Garbh Sanskar: In Garbh Sanskar baby’s brain is most important part.

Research show that a child’s early environment can have effects that last a lifetime. In reality, brain development begins while a baby is still in the womb. We’d be smart to pay attention to the latest research in early brain development.

Did you know that babies are affected by a mother’s emotions long before birth? While nutrients that make their way from mom’s mouth to baby are critical to a babies’ healthy development, emotional influences are also in play.

    AYURVEDA COCINA

Do you know that a baby in the womb who is exposed to high levels of maternal stress and fear, anxiety in the womb, due to the mother’s response to fighting or fear, primes a baby’s brain to repeat those anxiety responses in similar experiences after birth, and often years later?.Taken another way, babies raised in calm, loving, and safe environments while they are still in the womb prime their brains to repeat those calm and loving behaviours as babies, children, and adults.

It’s about time that we pay attention to babies before they make their official entrance into the world. Just because we can’t see, hear, or touch babies while they’re in the womb, it doesn’t mean they aren’t affected by our emotional experiences. With a highly-developed emotional brain, babies are born ready for relationships with those around them — and what they experience can have effects not only in the early years, but for many years to come.

Poor nutrition and exposure to drugs  can lead to serious problems in brain development, behaviour, heart health, and neural development even before birth.

Stress and isolated pregnancies also effect babies before birth. Social support (and other variables) accounted for 31% approx. of the variance in fetal growth. Women who had multiple types of social support from difference sources had infants with the highest birth weight.

"Most of the brain’s cells are formed before birth”

Plan your pregnancy, it should not be an accident: Preconception health is critical to women who may become pregnant. It’s during the earliest months of pregnancy, often before a woman realizes she is pregnant, that unhealthy habits may cause birth defects in babies and brains. So plan your baby and pregnancy for the better health and brain of your baby. So high quality care is required before conceive and during pregnancy as well, don’t forget it-it’s a prime factor to give a birth a baby with better brain.

“It’s a mother’s job to nurture; a good father just needs to be a good provider”

Your baby's brain begins forming at three weeks after conception. And the brain development continues to partly rely on your baby's nutrition until the age of 2. Therefore, it is critical for you to meet all your nutrition's needs throughout the pregnancy.

    Garbh Sanskar:Baby’s Brain: Part I

Pregnancy is a fascinating time of change for a new life growing within the womb. A baby grows a great deal from the point following conception to the time just prior to birth.

The foundation of your baby’s intelligence is being built while baby is still a fetus.  This stage of your baby’s life is very critical because this is where the raw materials of his intelligence and personality are being formed.  Fetal brain development has long lasting effect on your baby’s personality.

Partner has a big role to play during pregnancy:

Researchers says that if the woman had a partner who was being emotionally cruel to them while they were pregnant it had a really significant effect on their baby's future development. It really shows that the partner has a big role to play.Maternal stress increases the risk of a range of problems. If we could reduce the mother's stress while she is pregnant we might be able to potentially improve the outcome for a baby.

"However, it is a warning for people who may be facing more severe stresses and for those around women who are pregnant that increasing stress levels above what is normal for a person is not a good thing to do at that time."

Do you know that: At conception, a baby begins as a group of cells that are rapidly multiplying and becoming bigger. These cells continue to form the organs and tissues of the body, and the baby's appearance changes as new body parts develop. The development of a baby's brain in the womb is the foundation of life after birth. The human brain begins development three weeks after conception with the formation of the neural tube atop the entire length of the embryo.

"There are times when a baby's brain is making a quarter of a million new neurons and making links between them every minute,"

From the moment of conception, the foetus is continually developing and growing, both physically and mentally. There are times when a baby’s brain is making a quarter of a million new neurons every minute which is one of the reasons why pregnant women get so tired – creating brain cells is hard work! In the womb, your baby’s brain is developing all the time, growing neurons and also making links between those neurons.

Babies can recognise their mother’s voice, which shows that they developed that memory before they were born, so the brain was ‘working’ at that stage. This is one of the reasons why diet and the lifestyle choices that you make can have such an impact upon the unborn child.

“The longer a baby stays in the womb, the smarter the child, new research shows.”

“So is there anything women can do during pregnancy to increase their babies' intelligence, she has to do in any circumstances “

    Ayurvedic-herbs

"The most important thing you can do to ensure a healthy baby and promote a healthy brain and mental abilities, is to have the healthiest pregnancy possible," and this could be done with the help of your partner and family members by creating atmosphere in such a way that she will be pleased all the time she would during her pregnancy. So this most advisable for the family members to keep her away from every stress, it is possible.
