Garbh Sanskar:Make Your Baby Smarter

Make Your Baby Smarter:
If you’re pregnant there are plenty of ways you can develop and stimulate your baby’s brain. Find out how you can help your baby reach his fullest potential – from the foods you eat while pregnant to the activities you play with  your baby.
Boost Baby's Brain:
Your baby’s brain continues to grow and develop significantly throughout your entire pregnancy, which is why healthy pregnancy habits for all nine months are so important. Studies show that you can actually boost baby brain function and development with healthy behaviors ,avoiding toxic chemicals, and eating the right foods.

There are many ways to help your baby get a good start in life. You can boost your baby’s IQ while he or she is still in the womb, by reducing stress and anxiety, eating healthily, and by stimulating your unborn child, which will help to create the connections in the brain that are the foundation of intelligence. Taking these actions will help your baby’s brain development, and therefore boost intelligence and concentration, which helps with learning.
Women who take the recommended dose of folic acid starting at least a month before conception can reduce their baby’s risk of brain and spinal birth defects by 50 to 70 percent. Consuming enough folic acid is the first step you can take to assist your baby’s brain development. You can get your recommended dosage of folic acid each day from food and/or supplements.
Research relates that the following foods can positively affect your baby’s brain growth:
  • Omega-3 fatty acids: Look for the omega-3 label. Omega-3 is known to be a powerful brain booster. studies show that babies score higher on mental development tests, when their mamas eat a lot of omega-3 during pregnancy.
  • Protein: While pregnant, your body is working hard to create baby brain cells and that requires extra protein. It’s easy to add extra protein to your diet; daily items like peanut butter on toast or a yogurt smoothie can boost your protein intake.
  • Iron: Iron is necessary to help send oxygen to your baby’s brain during pregnancy. Eating iron-rich foods like spinach and beans is important. Your health care provider may suggest an iron supplement as well.
  • Antioxidants: Antioxidants found in foods such as blueberries, papaya, spinach, tomatoes, and red beans can help protect your baby’s brain tissue.

Other ways to stimulate your baby’s brain:
  • When you provide loving, language-enriched experiences for your baby, you are giving baby’s brain's neural connections and pathways more chances to become wired together.
  • Stay healthy while you are pregnant, and be aware that certain drugs can be destructive to your baby's brain in utero.
  • Respond to infant  with delighted vocalizations.
  • Playing different styles of music – from classical to mantras.Playing music or singing to your baby in utero can help pacify your baby after birth. It’s been established that music lays down patterns of brain development and helps with acquisition of several skills required for future learning. It’s recommend playing classical music to your unborn baby, because they have the right mix of new sounds and repetition, which they believe babies may enjoy.
  • Touch your baby through your stomach. This will stimulate your unborn baby and may help with brain development.
  • Talk to and read aloud to your baby. This will help your baby to understand the sounds of language even before he or she is born.
According to researchers, the more stimulation your baby gets in the womb, the more connections and pathways baby’s brain will create, because during the first nine months of life, the auditory, visual and other parts of the brain – even the ability to concentrate, begin to mature. Incredibly, during pregnancy, a baby develops as many as 50 000 brain cells per second, and by the time baby’s born, baby will have around 100 billion brain cells.
